It seems like every time I open my Facebook feed I stumble across someone that is trying to convince me that they have the next big secret to growing my studio. They all have “ideas” that they’re willing to share that they think I should implement. Some of them don’t even own dance studios themselves. (How am I supposed to trust those guys?)

Well, here’s the cold hard truth. YOU DON’T NEED MORE IDEAS! Nobody does. 

We could sit down and brainstorm for a while and come up with lots of ideas on our own. Just because we have ideas, doesn’t mean they’ll work, or that they’ll be worth it, or that we should waste time and money testing them. 

Beware the people that claim they have “an idea.”

Now don’t get me wrong. Often these people have your best interest in mind. They might genuinely want you to succeed. But that doesn’t mean that their ideas are even worth the time it takes you to read them.

 

So if we don’t need more ideas, what do we need?

PROVEN SYSTEMS BACKED UP BY DATA

Always ask for the proof. Always ask for the data.

What we all really need in our studios are ONLY 3 distinct systems:

1. A consistent and reliable stream of prospective students throughout the year.

2. A prospect pipeline that walks the people that are interested in our classes through the enrollment process.

3. A way to provide a high-quality class experience to these students without too much of our own input. 

And that’s it. We don’t need new ideas, or new programs, or less competition, or another complicated piece of software.

We only need those three systems.

Of course, it’s going to take some time and a little bit of elbow grease to set it up, but once that work is done you’ll be able to have your studio growth under your control at all times.

Wanna grow? No problem the system is under your control. Want to open an additional location? No problem, you control the systems and can just copy them in your new location.

Once those three systems are in place it’s just a matter of maintenance. Checking in and managing, and tweaking to make sure you’re growing. Put the right kind of work in up front, and reap the benefits over the long-term.
